Craig Wright's Perjury Investigation
A London High Court Judge found yesterday that Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto, lied in court to support his claims attempting to prove himself to be Satoshi.
The matter relates to the COPA vs Wright case from March where Craig Wright lost and was declared not Satoshi.
Judge James Mellor referred Craig Wright to Britain's Crown Prosecution Service for possible legal action over perjury and forgery charges in the July 16 written ruling.
Wright was ordered to put up a notice on his website that states he is not the creator of Bitcoin, which he did.
Judge Mellor also noted that prosecution, an arrest warrant, or extradition could be pursued given Craig Wright's false testimony.
A document filed on July 5 shows that the High Court has moved to freeze Wright's assets to help Peter McCormack (podcast host sued by Wright for libel in 2019) recoup ~$1.9M in legal fees.
The COPA v Wright case with the ruling in COPA's favor on May 23rd had COPA supply evidence exposing Craig Wright's documents as forgeries.
