El Salvador Wallet's Source Code Leaked
Blockchain Association & Others Sue The SEC Over DeFi Regulations, WLD Supply To Increase By 19%
A hacker group called CiberInteligenciaSV has leaked a portion of El Salvador's Chivo Bitcoin Wallet source code, along with VPN access information.
The leaked data initially appeared on an online hacking forum.
The same group was behind another breach earlier this month where personal data of 5.1 million Salvadorans was leaked. That made 144 GB of leaked data on April 5th, including names, unique IDs, pictures, and more.
An announcement from the hacker said that the code runs inside Chivo Wallet ATMs, that it's a government wallet, and that they don't sell the data but publish everything for free.
CiberInteligenciaSV is seeking talks with El Salvador's officials, reasons for which are not clear yet.
El Salvador's government has not commented on the hacks.
