Ethereum ETF Options Proposal Filed
Paris Olympics And Paris Museums Hit By Crypto Ransomware, Ethereum Staking Hits High
BlackRock, alongside Nasdaq, are seeking the SEC's approval to start offering spot Ethereum ETF Options.
BlackRock filed to the SEC an options trading and listing proposal on August 6th for its iShares Ethereum Trust, or ETHA.
The filling proposes solely Ethereum assets that would be held by Coinbase, and cash assets held by the Bank of New York Melon. But no Ethereum staking.
Spot Ethereum ETF options could further expand the crypto offering in mainstream finance, bringing even more exposure to crypto without direct investment in Ethereum.
Bloomberg's ETF analyst James Seyffart said they expect the SEC's decision by April 9th of next year; Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) must also sign off on this, not just the SEC.
As of August 5th, BlackRock's Ether ETF had net assets of $568.65, and their Bitcoin ETF had $18.28B.
