Ethereum's EIP-7781 Could Increase Throughput By 50%
Malicious PyPI Packages Target Crypto Wallets, WazirX's $234M Crypto Hack Probed By Indian Govt.
Ethereum has a new improvement proposal EIP-7781 that would cut block times by 33% from 12 to 8 seconds for data capacity, and increase network throughput by 50%.
Another goal of this proposal is to distribute bandwith usage over time.
The proposal was approved by Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake on GitHub.
The researcher noted that this would make DEXs like Uniswap v3 1.22 more efficient and save $100 million per year in CEX-DEX arbitrage.
Other Ethereum developers said that block time reduction could make solo staking more difficult, where stakers would need more powerful hardware.
