Hong Kong's Crypto ETFs Begin Trading
EigenLayer Announces EIGEN Airdrop, Stablecoins Surpass Visa In Transaction Volume
The recently greenlighted Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in Hong Kong have begun trading today, after much anticipation from the community.
The launch is being regarded as a soft debut because of the ETF volume being much lower than anticipated.
ChinaAMC, Harvest Global, HashKey and Bosera are the management funds behind these ETFs.
Hong Kong's Bitcoin ETFs saw $8.5 million and Ethereum ETFs saw $2.5 million in volume, collectively only $11 million — over $100 million was expected.
For reference, U.S. Bitcoin ETFs saw $655 million in trading volume on the first day.
Ethereum ETFs were allowed in Hong Kong because the concerns about Ethereum being a security aren't as prevalent there.
