Potential Bitcoin ETFs In Japan
TON Blockchain Launches Gasless Transactions, Tether's New Alloy Token Only Held By 32 Wallets
Franklin Templeton, alongside SBI Holdings, have created an ETF management joint venture in preparation of the potential approval of Bitcoin ETFs in Japan.
As per Nikkei, SBI Holdings will have the majority stake of 51%, and Franklin will have the rest.
SBI is partners with Chiliz, Ripple, and Circle, and Franklin has been an early participant in asset tokenization.
Franklin has ~$1.6T in assets under management, its Bitcoin ETF has net assets of over $403M, and its Ethereum ETF - around $17.8M.
Bitcoin ETFs have been approved in the US, Canada, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Australia.
The potential launch of Bitcoin and other crypto ETFs in Japan would open doors for retail investor entry further. It aligns with the interest in crypto from other Asian countries, Thailand and Hong Kong.
