Community Questions Ethereum's Ties To EigenLabs, Fidelity To Bring Staking To Ethereum ETFs
The SEC needs to reach its decisions regarding VanEck's spot Ethereum ETF application by May 23rd, and ARK Investment Management's by May 24th.
ARK and 21Shares recently removed a staking clause from their application, although today we're covering Fidelity adding staking to its ETF version.
Jan van Eck, VanEck's CEO, said to CNBC that he expects a rejection, while other leading industry analysts and fund managers suggest that an approval would be astonishing.
BlackRock's Ether ETF decision was delayed to June due to the SEC's concerns about labeling Ether as a commodity as opposed to a security. The SEC asked for public feedback regarding this, and has a series of cases open against crypto companies.
The SEC’s decision/approval of Ethereum ETFs this week comes down to a five-person vote."
Two elements — 19b-4 filings and S-1 registration statements must be approved.
