Uniswap Hits Record 300M Swaps This Year
Bitcoin ATM Installations Surge In Australia, India To Shut Down 38 Fraudulent Crypto Exchanges
In 2024 so far, Uniswap has processed well over 300 millon swaps -- a jump from ~180 million in 2023, as per Uniswap's recent twitter post.
This marks an all time high of swaps. In 2021's bull run, only 50M swaps were processed on the DEX.
However, Uniswap's volumes aren't correlating well with the volumes traded. The all-time monthly record volume was reached in November 2021, and hasn't been surpassed yet.
While Bitcoin trading is growing fast on DEXs and not far from the highs, it seems to be the opposite with altcoins.
Ethereum's Dencun upgrade that brought lower transaction fees is one of the drivers of this surge in swaps on the DEX
A more detailed overview can be found on this Dune dashboard.
Uniswap is also currently working with Across Protocol to build ERC-7683, and recently announced that Arbitrum leads in all-time volume with $190B+ in swaps on the DEX since 2021.
